He glowered. "Ok, fine. I can understand that. I'm not that intersted in her alliances... I'm interested in her actions. That's what counts for me. " His expression softened a little. "If you believe in her, I suppose she can't be all bad."
Harvey nodded and squeezed her hand where it rested on his knee, the light pressure of her fingertips somehow soothing. The corner of his mouth quirked up. "Of course. And I'm not upset with you. "
His free hand reached up to Olivia's temple again, lightly stroking her hair. "You stand up for what you believe in. And you're not afraid of it saying it... even to me." Harvey's gaze moved over her face, and he leaned forwards, closing the gap between them. His fingers slipped deeper into her hair. "Do you know how rare that is?"
He slid closer. "Please don't be afraid of me, Olivia. Never be afraid of me..."

Olivia felt herself flush as Harvey leaned forward. Her heart was pounding so hard she was sure he could hear it. The logical side of her knew that this probably was not the best idea she'd ever had, but at the moment she didn't care. "I'm not afraid of you." She said, somewhat breathlessly. She hesitated before reaching out and placing her other hand on his shoulder. Her eyes closed as she leaned forward and closed the gap fully. ((k, your turn, go ))

Harvey's arms slid around her, drawing Olivia close. Despite himself, his eyes searched hers, afraid always of finding the revulsion he had seen in so many women's eyes before... only Gilda had been able to look at him with this kind of steadiness and courage.
It still hurt to remember Gilda. He didn't want to think about Gilda. Not now. Not at this moment.
Harvey's tilted his head and pressed the good side of his lips to Olivia's in a slow, soft kiss. The very tip of his tongue slowly traced the inside of her bottom lip - not hesitant, but tender. His hand closed gently on the back of Olivia's head and slipped down to stroke the back of her neck.
He took a deep, slow breath as their lips parted, his eyes still closed.

Olivia wasn't sure she'd ever been kissed before quite like that. Most young men only wanted one thing: To get down and dirty as quickly as possible. But Harvey...Harvey was older, he was different. The only real negatives with him were the lack of the left side of his face and his alter-ego which was mildly terrifying.
She could deal with them.
Probably.
She swallowed as he pulled back and opened her eyes. She took a moment to take in both sides of his face. If things are going to go anywhere with us, I guess I might as well get used to it.
Olivia lifted the hand that had been on his shoulder to gently touch his bad cheek. "Well, this is certainly going in an interesting direction, don't you agree?"

Harvey's eyes remained on hers, an expression something like wonderment in his gaze. Slowly he lifted his own hand and pressed hers more firmly against his ruined cheek as he leaned into her touch.
His voice caught slightly as he replied. "I wish I could feel that... it's dead, you know. Almost completely dead." His fingers caressed the back of her hand, his head turning slightly to press a kiss to her palm.
"Any direction you want... but you know how I feel. You must know." He leaned forwards again, seeking another kiss.

Olivia decided that responding after another kiss was a much better plan than postponing it. She lifted her hand from his knee and pressed it gently against his chest as she pressed her lips against his once more.
She simply savored the feeling of kissing him for a moment. Kissing someone with half of a mouth was certainly a new experience. It was a bit odd, but she rolled with it. A feeling of playfulness hit her and she bit his lower lip on the good side before pulling back.
Opening her eyes, Olivia locked eyes with Harvey. "It must be frustrating for you to not feel anything." She said, her voice soft. "I can't imagine how hard it must have been to get used to it."

Harvey gave a short laugh as Olivia's teeth closed lightly on his lip and he pressed forwards slightly to deepen the kiss, his mouth now more hungry on hers. He smiled as their lips finally parted.
His expression was faintly rueful. "It wasn't easy... but you might say I had outside help. Or inside help, depending on how you look at it."
Harvey sighed slightly and wrapped his arms more tightly around Olivia, settling back against the sofa cushions and drawing her head onto his shoulder. He nuzzled in her hair for a moment, remembering the first weeks after his scarring.
"It's strange... sometimes I find it hard to remember what it was like before. And other times, all I remember is the pain as it started healing. In fact that's now about the only thing the nerves on the left side of my face respond to - pain."

Olivia absently fiddled with a pocket on Harvey's shirt as he spoke, feeling her heart clench as he told her the only thing it responded to was pain. "I'm sorry." She said quietly.
She was silent, content to simply sit against him. She was comfortable and content and just...happy. A part of her wondered how long it would last, if it would last, but at the moment it was nice to be taken care of.
After a moment she shifted to put a bit more distance between them, looking up at his face. "I'd better head back home. I don't want to overstay my welcome." She bit her lip and pushed her hair behind her ears. "You'll let me know if you find anything out, right? I don't want you to sugarcoat...I just have to know what happened."

Harvey shook his head and kissed her forehead. "Don't be." he paused, his voice soft and only slightly heavy. "I know I'm hard to look at, but I made my peace with that a long time ago."
He looked at her regretfully as she sat up. He gently took her chin between two fingers, tilting her face up to his. "You couldn't possibly outstay your welcome."
Harvey paused, looking into her eyes. "You could stay... you could stay all night." He gave a small smile. "But I understand. Like I said, any direction you want. And as slowly as you want." He indicated the missing side of his mouth. "I imagine it must feel... different."
Harvey regarded her levelly, noting again how firm and clear her gaze was. How she was prepared to face the worst and not to turn her gaze away from it. "I promise."

Olivia gave him a slightly amused smile. "It's definitely different. I've always found the norm rather boring, so I think we'll be fine."
She reached out to touch his good cheek, gently stroking it with her thumb. "I don't want to rush things. We still don't know each other very well."
She leaned forward to give him another quick kiss. "I would like to change that, though. You're a very intriguing man, Harvey Dent."

Harvey's eyes did not leave Olivia's as she spoke, "I think so too. You're really something, Olivia Hale. You know that?"
He nodded slowly "I understand. And I definitely intend to do something about that. But intriguing? That's diplomatic of you."
Harvey smiled and leaned into the kiss, trying to prolong the touch of her lips on his. With an effort, He unwrapped his arms from around Olivia and stood up. "Are you ok to get home?"

Olivia chuckled as she stood. "I hope diplomatic is a good thing."
She fixed her hair to the best of her abilities and picked up her purse. "I'm fine I think, thank you." She turned to face him and placed her hands on his shoulders. She blamed feeling sappy on the situation with Charlie, but a part of her knew that it couldn't be completely blamed. "I'm so glad to have met you, Harvey. I'm a very lucky girl."
Her arms snaked around his neck as she stood up on tip toe for another kiss.

"I think we both got lucky." he corrected himself "All three of us, actually."
Harvey's hands stroked her the small of her back as she moved against him, then slid up to her shoulderblades. His fingers became suddenly grasping as he kissed her harder, more hungrily, drawing her lower lip between his own.
Harvey gave a shaky laugh as the kiss ended."You're not making this 'going slow' thing easy, kid. Go on, go home." He smiled gently. "I'll call you tomorrow."

Olivia was breathing heavily as she gave his chest a gentle shove. "Don't call me kid, you pedo. It's not my fault that you can't resist my feminine charms." She shot him a wide grin and gave him one last peck on the cheek.
"I look forward to hearing from you, Harv." She turned to walk out of the apartment before hesitating and turning back around. "Please don't do anything...questionable when you do inquiries, okay?" She rubbed the back of her neck, giving him a slightly nervous look. "I don't want you to end up in a tight spot just because of me."

Harvey blinked. "I'm sorry, what?" He looked into middle distance then shook his head slightly. "That wasn't me." He frowned. "And he shouldn't have done that."
Harvey looked her in the eyes, his expression giving away nothing. "Trust me."
His gaze cleared as he smiled again. "I'll see you soon."
