Full Name: Olivia Rose Hale
Alias (if applicable): N/A
Birthday: July 16, 1986
Age: 24
Hometown: Gotham City
Appearance: Olivia is quite short, standing at only 5 feet 1 inches tall. She's not particularly exotic looking with her shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes, but that suits her personality. People tend to think she is a lot younger than she really is.
Personality: Olivia is the type of person who is extremely quiet when she first enters a new situation. She takes the time to get a feel for the people around her before she opens up. Once she relaxes into a situation, Olivia is quite extroverted. She has a rather dry sense of humor and enjoys making people laugh. Olivia has a bit of an inferiority complex due to years of her mother telling her that she wasn't good enough.
She is a very firm believer in treating everyone with the same respect that you yourself wish to receive. When Olivia believes in something, she absolutely refuses to back down from it and this has put her into some difficult spots in the past.
Special Abilities: Olivia has a magnetic personality that allows people to open up to her and trust her even though she doesn’t necessarily open up to them as well.
History: Olivia was born and raised in the Narrows in Gotham City. Her only sibling is her 29 year old brother, Charles. Their mother, Charlotte, is an emotionally abusive, unemployed drug addict who made the children's lives very difficult growing up. Their father, George, worked long hours at a factory to try to provide for his children. When Olivia was 18, her father was killed in a botched robbery at a gas station.
Olivia is lucky that Charles is such a protective older brother. He did his best to shield her from the worst of their mother's drug-induced rants and for that Olivia is very grateful. Charles dropped out of school when he was 16 so he could pick up a job to try to take some of the load off of their father. He always made sure that Olivia stayed focused in school so that she could have a better life than he did. Olivia's hard work allowed her to get a full ride to Gotham University where she majored in psychology. She is currently preparing to begin her internship at Arkham Asylum while she goes through med school for her PhD.
She became interested in psychology early on in school. Growing up in a place like the Narrows allowed her to get to interact with a myriad of different people, which made her want to study them.
Olivia made a lot of acquaintances while in school (both college and high school), but never really made a true friend. She was afraid of what they would say if she brought them home to meet her mother and see where she lived. Charles told her that this was probably for the best as people will betray you. Olivia decided that she was going to attempt to reach out more to people while at Arkham and hopefully make a meaningful friendship.
Charles made sure that Olivia knew how to defend herself. Much to his displeasure she is completely useless with a gun, but is rather proficient in the martial arts.
