That's right if you picked up a copy of the Daily Bugle you will read the headline that has most of the men and women in the know scratching their collective heads. Norman Osborn has just won his first term as President of the United States. After a tell all story about how he became the Green Goblin, and of course the accident was blamed on a villianized Wall Crawler. He was turned into some kind of modern hero for the drug crowd. He made it sound more like an addiction than what it really was. The release of his insanity. Fisk, his Vice President has already primed the world for what they were going to do. Put an end to the age of Superhero's and Villians.
Anyone with a brain knows what is going on, and that is simple. They want to use the military to wipe out the superhero's and their competition in the criminal world. Then they can retire from the White House and enjoy a joint partnership for the rest of their days. Quickly known hero's like the Avengers became Fugitives, and the ones like the X-Men just became hunted. Sentinel Robots painted in the same style as Captain America's uniform started flying around the country looking for anyone that was a mutant. MRD also got a new more bright uniform, and S.H.I.E.L.D was brought in to round up all the rest.
The first attack wave caught most of the costume hero's off guard and they were arrested and sent to recommisioned Alcatraz Island, the defenses where increased by the combined Technological might of Fisk and Osborn Ind. Respectfully, redesigned SpiderSlayers patrolled the walls, while guards in Highly offensive Iron Man style armor patrolled the waters. Things just couldn't get much worse.
As any such thing happens there started the rumor of normal people helping the hero's creating under ground railroads again to safe houses , and currently the safest of them all has been named Citadel, an underground city. It is the best supplied, but things are still hard there. But it is a place where those who would fight for the promise of tomorrow are more than welcomed. Come in, rest a spell, and get ready. Cause it's about time for a revolution.
