Harvey listened to her, nodding slowly.
"So now you'll be running Arkham." He raised his eyebrows with a tiny smile. "The King is dead, long live the Queen?"
He remembered something. "By the way, who was the guy in the mask? The one who came into the ballroom with the twin swords and his sidekicks."

Smirking slightly as his words, Harley found it hard not to feel smug. Her career was certainly heading on the right track, even if it was thanks to the mental disintegration of her boss. At the question, Harley frowned, having almost forgotten about Goodnite and the Grey's, whose escape would be trouble for the asylum.
'Ryan Goodnite,' she replied, 'he's got post-traumatic symptoms and dissociative identity disorder.'

Harvey sucked in air through his teeth. "DID... tough gig. They used to think I had that at first. I don't; but they never came up with another diagnosis that stuck. Two-Face thinks psychiatrists just overcomplicate the two of us. 'Why can't Harvey just be crazy, and leave it at that?, he says. But then he's never been that fond of opening up to people." He smiled almost fondly as he talked of his other self.
Harvey gave her a sideways glance. "I am curious , though... what's your diagnosis? Of him or me. Or both."

At the question, Harley bit her lip, glancing at the Joker before back to Harvey. She didn't know how best to handle the situation, scared she'd set Harvey off and end the rather civil circumstances they had had so far.
'I haven't had time to properly build a diagnosis,' she said slowly, 'but I'd say you were displaying signs of Antisocial Personality Disorder, what used to be psychopathy, and in creating a socially aware mask personality you've come to display symptoms similar to DID.'

Harvey tilted his head to the side, considering. "I appreciate the honesty, Doctor."
He digested her words, giving them some thought. "So assuming that the socially aware mask is this one - " he gestired to the right hand side of his face" you think it's Two-Face that's the real me?" Harvey nodded towards the Joker. "Funny. He said something similar."
He gave a wry smile. "And people say I used to be such a nice guy..."

Harley gave a little nod at that. She hadn't known Harvey before the incident that had scarred his face though she was willing to bet his current personality was a result of what happened to him. Shifting awkwardly in her seat, she spoke very quietly. 'There are treatments to help.'

Harvey looked at her silently for a long time. "There are. But none that they give in Arkham."
Without dropping his gaze, he took his coin from his pocket and began slowly turning it over and over on his knuckles so that she could see both sides of the 1920s Peace Dollar - one pure, bright silver and the other scarred and defaced.
"Meet my therapist. Lady Liberty and her twin sister."

Watching as he played with the coin, Harley bit her lip to stop herself from saying that the coin was not helping but another part of the problem. Looking back up to Harvey, she sighed. 'What happens next? You get away tonight but they'll be searching for you both.'

Harvey closed his fingers over his coin and dropped it back into his pocket.
"I think I'm now supposed to say 'I could tell you but then I'd have to kill you'. But that would be such a cliche. And as I said, I'm far too tired to kill anybody this morning.
"I've got plans, Doctor. I always do." A ghost of a smile touched his face. "Admittedly I wasn't expecting to be making a getaway with a clown and a psychiatrist in the car with me, but I don't argue with chance."
He flicked his gaze to a clothing store a few buildings away. "So... how about making a shopping trip on our behalf? Think about it. The sooner we can pass as normal, the sooner you get to go home. "

At the request, Harley bit on her lip again, glancing to the store. It would be ridiculously easy for her to have them call the police before Harvey or the Joker even realised what was up, but somehow she didn't see any point in risking it. If they were going to let her go anyway, she might as well play the game their way and ensure her safety rather than take any risks. Sighing she looked back to Harvey, holding out her hand.
'Money and your sizes.'

Harvey smiled ."Thank you, doctor. A very wise decision. Are you absolutely sure you don't want to come on a Bonnie and Clyde-style road trip and crime spree? I'm sure Joker would love it if you did."
He held out a fold of banknotes. "Get something inconspicious, please. Jeans and a plain shirt or something. 38 for the pants, large top."

Joker had been zoning out up until this point. He reached over and took Harley's hands gently. "Harls, a man like me doesn't know their size. Why don't ya get a little closer and find out for yourself?"

'I never liked Bonnie's hair,' Harley murmured, nodding at Harvey's instructions as she took the money, kind of wishing she had her bag, or at least had worn a bra, so she wouldn't have to walk along just holding it. As the Joker took her hands, Harley raised an eyebrow, looking towards him. Giving a wry snort, she pulled her hands free of his, placing them flat from the sides of his hips into his abdomen to guesstimate.

Joker's watched Harley's hands through heavily lidded eyes. "Harley-girl, if ya wanted to get down and dirty with me, all ya had to do was ask." He shifted, mentally berating himself for allowing her to get to him physically.
"I don't want anything inconspicuous. Get me something loud and fun!"

Almost rolling her eyes, Harley pulled her hands away, giving him a look. 'Maybe some other time,' she said before sighing, turning to open the car door. Getting out, the night air hit her and she hissed a curse under her breath before leaning down to look back in at Harvey. 'I'm getting pants,' she stated. Though she wasn't going on the run, there was no way she was making her way home from wherever they dropped her in this dress. And besides, the least Harvey owed her was some new clothes.
Shutting the car door, Harley crossed her arms over her chest, keeping her eyes down as she hurried to the store. She couldn't understand why it was even open at this time but Gotham City was a strange sort of place and she wasn't in the mood to ask questions. She moved quickly, finding simple trousers and a shirt for Harvey and grabbing some clothes for herself. She mentally cursed the Joker as she looked around the store, trying to find something that wasn't completely drab. Finally finding a shirt in a print they should have never let out of the factory and a pair of almost snakeskin looking pants, she headed to the counter, trying to give the shop assistant a grin. They looked bored and rung up the items while Harley nervously drummed her nails on the counter.
When they were almost done, another assistant appeared from behind the counter, coming out from the staff room where he'd been watching the news. He paused in his actions, staring wide-eyed at Harley. For a second, she panicked, wishing she had some kind of weapon before the radio she hadn't even noticed was playing switched to a news bulletin detailing the search for herself, Harvey and the Joker.
'Still not found them?' she mused aloud for the shop assistant's benefit. 'I was at that thing. Got away, thankfully... thanks.'
Taking the bag, Harley hottailed out of the store before he could question her.
