Jim shifted slightly when her foot brushed his leg, Jim shook his head to say that she didn't need to worry. He smiled slightly when he realised what she'd said before.
"Do you miss him?" He asked gently, looking at the rest of the restaurant before looking at her with a hint of curiousity in his expression as he spoke but not enough to make him seem nosy.

She sighed softly, looking longingly at her phone. "Very much so. He's the state attorney of Georgia, and with me being as busy as I am, our schedules do not mesh well enough that we can visit face to face." She smiled as the screen went back to the picture of she and her father she had set as her background. "I haven't seen him in...three years?" She wasn't honestly sure.
She shook her head to clear it before she looked back up at him. "But enough of my pity party." She looked up as the waitress came to them to take their orders. She ordered a fajita and a glass of brandy to smooth out the edges from the day. She then sat back into her seat, gazing at her hands in her lap, looking almost like a lost child.

Jim listened, much like a father would actually, while she spoke. When the waitress came over, he looked at her and gave a small smile before ordering the chimichanga and an orange juice. He didn't want alcohol now considering he still had work to do at the station. He shifted slightly in his seat to get comfortable and put his menu away silently.

Elizabeth smiled slightly as the waitress left and she returned her attention to Gordon. She looked at him for only a moment before she looking down at her hands once more. She had let her guard down, dropped the sex kitten act and was the small town, Southern girl she was born as. She was at the edge of her rope, she was tired, and she felt helpless. She sighed and traced her fingertip across the table, watching it.
She pulled her hand off of the table and put it back in her lap, looking up only when the waitress returned with their drinks. She took her brandy and swirled it in her glass, looking at the liquid that was the same color as her eyes, before she took a small sip.

Unable to think of anything to say, and finding the silence comfortable between them, Jim took his drink, when it got there, and sipped at it thoughtfully. He looked at her in a passing glance and smiled gently at her, hoping that she didn't feel too strange. So far, he'd seen two more sides to her, the pitbull and the quiet girl and he began to wonder how many sides this particular die had. He looked at his drink and sipped it again, seeing as he had nothing to say and nothing to do apart from drink his drink in near silence, minus the murmur of the other customers in the place.

Elizabeth took another sip of her drink and gazed around them, not at all enjoying the silence that had fallen between them. She had so many things she wanted to say, but no particular way she was sure to say them. She wanted to apologize for being so forward with him the other evening, but then again she didn't. He had wanted to give in, she could tell, but the gold band around his finger kept him from wavering. So many damn details.
She exhaled slowly and closed her eyes for a mere moment to think. Finally, she spoke. "The way I acted the other evening was grossly inappropriate..."

"It's fine, I'd almost forgotten about that." Jim said gently, lying easily. He hadn't forgotten about it, of course he hadn't. He hadn't thought of anything but that, but he had to seem like the best husband, ignoring, of course, his previous affair... Truth be told, he was still surprised that his wife was still with him. He had expected divorce papers to be shoved into his face by now... "I must apologize for my reaction... It was only slightly over the top." He said, his usual smile gone now. He looked at her gently, not expecting her to necessarily accept his apology, but at least acknowledge it.

"Oh, I'm not apologizing for it." She replied honestly, lifting her perfectly sculpted eyebrows. "I would do it again in a heart beat. I'm just simply letting you know that I acknowledge that it was inappropriate." She felt a smirk coming onto her face and she forced it away before it had fully set in.
"Your reaction was perfectly appropriate. One of us had to make me stop." She looked away from him as their waitress reappeared with their food. She sighed happily as the sizzling skillet of vegetables and chicken was set in front of her with soft shells and a plate of extras. She picked up one shell and began fixing a fajita, only then realizing how hungry she was.

Jim gave a slight shake of his head at her words, a humoured smile curving his lips as the waitress walked over their there food. He began to eat his own food, finding that it was lot tastier than he'd expected it to be. He let silence fall over the pair of them while they ate, he didn't mind the silence and he didn't know what to say...

Elizabeth smiled delightedly as the wonderful taste of the Mexican fajita hit her mouth. She continued eating, allowing a silence to fall between them. She didn't mind it, as it gave her time ot think. The rest of their lunch passed in relative silence, Elizabeth paying at the end of the meal and popping a few orange Tic-Tacs to neutralize the flavor of her meal.
She then stood, offering a small smile to him.

At the end of the meal, Jim had waited for her to stand before also standing. He smiled at her as well.
"Thank you, for the meal... Again." He said, giving a soft chuckle as he realised that both times they'd met, they had eaten together and both times he'd thanked her for the meal. He led the pair out of the place, stopped to say goodbye to her. "Goodbye, again. I'm sure we'll see each other again." He smiled gently, shifting his glasses up his nose some.

Elizabeth moved out behind him, coming to lean on her car as he stopped to thank her. "It was my pleasure." She replied with a small smile. She glanced briefly around them, seeing no one that she knew, before coming to stand straight off the side of the car. She walked around to stand in front of him and reached a hand up to grasp his chin.
She moved the rest of the way up onto the balls of her feet, not much more when you added the heels she was already wearing into the mix. She leaned in towards him and pressed her lips to his, her eyes closing. For a moment, she was afraid to move, afraid to breathe, and simply waited to see if he would respond.

Shock passed over him as she kissed him and Jim froze for a minute before gently pushing her away and, somewhat uncomfortable now, gave a soft cough. He moved to his car and, stopping with his hand on the handle, gave her a soft smile before getting into his car. He started the engine and, hoping only she would hear, he spoke.
"Not in public, pitbull." He said, smile still on his face before he pulled out into the traffic and began the drive to the station.

Elizabeth gave a very soft sigh and allowed him to push her away. After a moment, she opened her eyes and looked up at him, unsure of what to say or what to do. She could not believe what she just did, but she was most certainly not sorry for it. And he didn't seem angry at all, which was a relief.
She watched him walk around to his car and she simply stood there, breathing slowly. She smirked to his words as he started the engine, batting her lashes. "Oh, I've been a very bad dog." She replied in a rather dead pan voice. "If you change your mind, you know where to find me."
She moved around to her own car and unlocked it, sliding into the driver's seat and starting up the engine. She pulled out of the parking space and into traffic, heading back to the office.
