Joker was excited. He'd met a really interesting new pal today and now he was gearing up for some fun. He'd broken into Harvey's apartment and was sitting on the couch, waiting for Olivia.
Tally Man was scheduled to come in at 10 PM. Olive would be home some time between 8 and 9:30, so until then he'd just watch some movies on Harvey's massive TV.
Life was wonderful.

Olivia was completely exhausted. She'd been at Arkham almost non stop since Joker escaped. Since her night with Tally Man she hadn't been able to catch up on sleep.
Tonight she'd change that.
She yawned widely as she pushed the door open. She didn't notice anything odd until she'd shut the door behind her. The TV was on. Her attention shifted to the couch.
To the Joker...on the couch.
"Oh fuck my life."

Joker stood up as soon as the door opened. He pointed the Glock that had been next to him on the couch at the young woman. "Call the cops and I won't think twice about putting a bullet right between your pretty little eyes. Now sit your ass on the couch. I wanna have a little chit chat with ya."

Olivia glared at him. "Great. This is exactly how I wanted to end my day." She dropped her purse onto the floor and moved to sit on the couch. Her knuckles were white as her hands clasped in her lap.
"So...you um...wanted to talk?" Her voice was surprisingly calm, considering how frantic her brain was.

Joker sat down on the coffee table across from Olivia, Glock still in his hands. "See, Olive, you and I had a talk a little while back, do you remember?"
He cracked his neck. "I remember. I thought I was quite clear but uh...apparently not. You wanna explain why you went runnin' straight to Harvey after I specifically told you not to?"

Olivia shifted uncomfortably. "Um...yeah, I remember that. You made it a little hard to forget." Her gaze flicked across his painted face nervously.
"You can't keep me from him, Joker. You're just going to piss Harvey off and that's not good for either of us. If I were you I'd just forget about all of this. I still think you're overreacting."

Joker was silent for a long time. He finally moved to sit next to Olivia on the couch. "Yanno, maybe you're right." He patted her knee. "Let's just put all this behind us and watch some Star Wars, mmkay? I know you like it."
The gun didn't leave his hand, but he unmuted the TV and turned his (seemingly) full attention to it.

Spending an evening watching Star Wars next to a psychopathic clown was not how Olivia had envisioned tonight. Her original plan had been to have a glass of wine or two and then crawl into bed and sleep for about 10 years.
So much for plans.
She hugged her knees to her chest and rested her chin on them, staring blankly at the screen. Life was entirely too strange to process right now.

The Tally Man waited until the doorman at the base of Harvey's apartment building was distracted, then slipped inside. He moved quickly, like a shadow in his long black coat. He tirned away from the bank of elevators, making his way up the fire escape stairs instead. They would be much less populated.
On the 22nd floor, he unfastened his coat and drew out a revolver, old in style but immaculately clean. He quickly fitted a silencer, and buried the gun in his deep coat pocket. Remembering the Joker's advice earlier about pizzaz - though he wasn't entirely sure what pizzaz really was or what good it did - he had also brought a pair of lethally sharp stiletto knives, which hung in leather sheaths on his belt.
He made his way down the plush carpeted corridor and knocked quietly on the door of Harvey Dent's apartment.

Joker grinned and jumped to his feet. "Party time, Olive! Hold onto your britches, sweetie pie, it's gonna be a fun night."
He hurried to the door with a bounce in his step and pulled it open. "Hey, buddy! Good to see ya. Our little friend is right over there on the couch. Have at it."

TheTally Man walked through the hallway and entered the room silently, standing in eerie composure. Then he realised who his target was. He blinked once, quickly, but other than that gave no outward sign of discomfort.
"Miss Hale."
He turned to look at Joker for a moment, and although his expression did not show anything as human as doubt, he was plainly conflicted as his gaze shifted form the young woman on the couch to the thin man before him.

Olivia lept to her feet, looking frantically between Joker and Tally Man. Her mind was racing. She had settled the debt with the Chechen so there was no reason for him to be here unless...
She paled. "You have to be kidding me. You have to be fucking kidding me. Joker what...what did you do? This better be some sort of a joke." She crossed her trembling arms. "Whatever it is, its not funny."

Joker turned his gaze back to Olivia and met her eyes. Every inch of his body language screamed danger. "I'm not laughing, sweetheart."
He slid an arm around Tally Man's shoulders. "I know you two have already met, so maybe this'll make it...ah...easier. SeƱor Tally Man here is gonna do a job for me." He smiled at Tally Man. "She's all yours, buddy."

Tally Man tensed a little at the arm around his shoulders. He didn't like to be touched. Except when Miss Hale had touched him. That had felt different. He didn't know why; it just was. That troubled him.
He didn't want to hurt her. That troubled him even more. He owed something to Joker. He was in Joker's debt. That meant he had to pay. Not in money, but in the job he did. He looked down for a moment, then drew the knives on his belt.
"Miss Hale. What do you find funny?"

Olivia stepped back, hardly registering the fact that her calves connected somewhat painfully with the coffee table. She was shaking. "You hired him to kill me, Joker? Seriously?" A slightly hysterical laugh bubbled out of her.
She sank onto the table. "You wanna know what I find funny, T-Man? All of this. My life is funny. I start working at that godforsaken asylum and my entire life falls apart. Its funny that one person can have this much shit happen to them in such a short amount of time."
She lifted her gaze to meet Tally Man's empty eyes. "I didn't do anything to deserve this." She whispered.
