Moving to Gotham was either the biggest mistake Evelia had made, or the best choice. At the current moment, she couldn't decide. Wanting a job as a psychiatrist in Gotham was dangerous, apparently, as this city housed some of the craziest criminals she'd ever heard of. So, it was on a chilly October night that she decided to find somewhere still open to sit and think, and she stumbled upon a small coffee shop with a joint bookstore, and stopped in to get a cup of coffee and muse on her choices.
Arkham seemed to be the best place to get a job, but did she really want to risk that? Part of her liked the fact it was dangerous and that she'd have the chance to pick at their brains (if they...didn't pick at hers...), but the other part warned her against doing something stupid and making a hasty decision. Sighing, she looked down into her coffee, her brown locks falling into her face for a moment.
The rent on her nice, new apartment wasn't going to pay itself, and even though her car was paid off, insurance for it was ridiculous. Real life liked to creep up at the most inopportune times, and even though she was fully an adult and able to take care of herself, sometimes it was nice to be able to sit back and forget about all that shit for a while. Clearly, this was the start of another difficult time in her life...but maybe she didn't know just how difficult it would be, or who she'd recognize in this city from her past.
After another sigh, she took a sip of the coffee and leaned back slightly in the chair. Just a few more minutes. She couldn't worry herself sick over this, and it was getting late.

Ingrid walked along the streets of Gotham, not at all worried about walking alone in the dark. In fact, she was humming as she went too. She was wearing a black and blue shirt, a blue skirt with purple leggings, a leather jacket and her combat boots. Her blue hair flowed behind her as she walked. She spotted an open coffee shop and decided to go in.
She walked in and went to the counter. "Hi. Can I get a cafe mocha, please?" The girl behind the counter nodded and went to fix her drink. Ingrid took that chance to look around the shop. No one seemed out of the ordinary, so she turned back to the counter. The girl gave her the cafe mocha and she dug into her jacket pocket and paid the girl. Turning away from the counter, she began to wonder where she could sit. If she had to, she'd sit alone. But she hoped that someone would wave her down so that she could join them.
(you looked a bit lonely in here. hope you don't mind if I join you)

[ooc; I don't mind at all! I've been struggling to get this thread going.]
Evelia kept her head down, glancing into her coffee and seemingly lost in thought. Most of the tables were filled up with late night customers, some reading, some spending time gossiping. It didn't bother her too terribly much, but when she needed to think, after a while, the noise got to be just plain annoying.
Brushing her brown hair out of her face, she noticed the young girl looking around the cafe for a place to sit. Would it be strange to allow her to share the table? In Gotham, a lot of things weren't as accepted as they were in the small town of Arlen, Georgia, where she grew up. Pausing, she sighed a bit, then smiled softly, standing.
"You can sit here, dear," She said simply, gesturing to the seat across from her. "I was about to leave, anyway." Or maybe she would stay. She supposed it depended on if this girl was sociable or not, Evelia wasn't good at one sided conversation at all.

Ingrid spotted the woman who had stood and gestured for her to join. She smiled and nodded before walking over to the table. "Thanks." She was truly thankful for the woman spotting her and inviting her to join. She set her cafe mocha down and took off her leather jacket before sitting down.
She brushed some blue strand of hair from her face and smiled at the other woman. "My name's Ingrid." She extended her hand to the woman. She gave a friendly smile and wondered if the woman was going to take her hand.
