Full Name: Daniel Tobias Boyd
Alias (if applicable): Dan, Toby
Birthday: September 5, 1985
Age: 25
Hometown: Gotham
Appearance:
Daniel stands at 6'2'' and is quite skinny, although he has a great amount of hidden strength which people only learn about when in a physical fight with him. He has short-ish dark brown hair and brown eyes, and has dimples in his cheeks that show whenever he smiles. On his inner left wrist, he has a tattoo of a small Rubik's Cube, which he got when he was 18. He has another small tattoo on lower abdomen, just above his hip bone, of a black-haired mermaid, which he got for Ruby at the height of their relationship. Dan usually wears a baggy t-shirt and skinny jeans, making his legs look even skinnier.
Personality:
Dan can be a nice guy, when he wants to be, that is. Never knowing who his parents were turned Dan into a bitter, cold-hearted, determined man who has few friends and will do anything to get what he wants.. He can be extremely violent, especially when angry and finds pleasure in other people's pain, e.g. Ruby. Also, he has a dry sense of humour. He prefers to be alone and do things independently, rather than spend time with other people. His friends have learned, due to being abandoned by his parents, he can become quite possessive/clingy and is rather strange, looking up to Kurt Cobain and Jim Morrison as idols. Although, Cobain and Morrison made something of their lives.
Special Abilities:
...He can prep a needle quicker than most?
History:
Daniel Boyd grew up in Gotham, in the Narrows, staying in an orphanage after his mother left him there. As a child, he was quiet and shy, but caused problems for the orphanage (on one occasion he was caught poisoning another child's food). Doctors were called to analyze the young boy, but he proved to be sane, albeit slightly disturbed.
Nothing much happened in the younger year's of Dan's life. He got fairly good grades and went on through high school as "the loner". When he reached the age of 17, he joined a small gang, and became involved with drugs and fights. Against the orphanage's rules, he left and moved into a basement apartment, which soon became the gang's meeting place. After one serious fight, in which Daniel seriously injured a younger boy, he ran away to the other side of Gotham, scared for his own safety, leaving his apartment and gang behind in the past. Once he was safe, he began work at a casino (part-owned by Harvey Dent) as a bartender. On his days off, he would shop around town and meet up with dealers for his weekly fix.
The day he met Ruby, was one of his days off. A new music store had opened and he wanted to take a look inside, hoping they'd have a biography of the Doors' frontman. At seeing Ruby, his thoughts of the book vanished and he turned his attention towards the girl, as he had never felt anything for someone before. Being the determined individual he is, he asked Ruby out, and soon they fell in love with one another. Of course, he treated her differently just so she would stay with him, but he would still be horrible to others.
By the time he was 22, and in a "serious" relationship with Ruby based on drugs, he settled on the idea of marrying her, thinking their all-the-time high was pure heaven. He proposed on her 20th birthday.
During the month of July that same year, Dan started a torrid love affair with a woman named Judy, from Ruby's and his social circle. At first, to him, it was nothing but as it neared the date of the wedding, the affair grew. Judy demanded he told Ruby of the affair or she would - the classic ultimatum. Dan took it upon himself to threaten Judy, and told her they were better off to leave Ruby. So they did, on the day of the wedding, and with a fair amount of money, too. Since Dan had worked in Harvey's casino which was a main place for money-laundering, he had learned the system and stole a large amount of money (to him, to Harvey, it was a small amount). He left Ruby behind without a second thought and moved to another state.
But what goes around, must come back, and Judy deserted him after a violent fight. Dan moved back to Gotham, although this time living in the outskirts, where nothing happened.
When he was out one day, he saw himself on a Wanted poster, obviously Harvey Dent had made sure of it that he would catch him for stealing. Someone recognised him and called GPD, leading Dan to be arrested. Since he had links to Harvey Dent, he was imprisoned in Blackgate Penitentiary.
After three years of being in Blackgate, he escaped, thanks to The Joker, and now, works as a guard for him in Arkham Asylum.
