Appearance: The Penguin, excuse me, Oswald has a protruding, slightly hooked nose that is the first thing of him anyone sees. He enjoys dressing classy (suits, top-hats, fedoras, monocles, etc.) and can almost always be seen with an umbrella. He is short and rotund, often giving him a waddle which supports his sometimes unwanted alias.
Personality: Unlike most that he deals with, the Penguin is a perfectly sane creature. He is a high class man, and enjoys shoving everyone's nose in it. He executes his crimes with a finesse the other, crazier villains seem to lack. (He's looking at you, Joker) He can be quite scummy, however. He shows no class when dealing with women, often rudely pointing out his attractions to him. He also enjoys his fish on the raw side and keeps the company of birds. He also snorts every once in a while, don't point it out.
Special Abilities: His is highly intelligent and quite a good strategist. He often can plan a crime and not have to lift a finger himself. He also have a variety of different umbrellas he can use as weapons or in one case, as a hypnotic tool. He is not seen without at least one of these.
History: Oswald Cobblepot was born into a high class family. When he was just a small boy, his father died of pneumonia and caused his mother to lose a good deal of her sanity. She made him bring an umbrella with him everywhere, lest he catch a cold. She hoped that he would grow into his looks.
At school, he was often taunted for being short and "icky looking". He would share his lunch only with birds for most of his school days. By the time he reached puberty, his mother had given up hope on his looks and he became an outcast in his family. He turned to crime. His intelligence quickly gained him wealth and power.
He fell in with the mob early on and quickly became known as reliable with them. He'd do various tasks and loved when he got to kill or threaten. He climbed his way up the ranks and finally, successfully, killed the head and took over.
He set up a small nightclub which was to be his cover for his other, true business. Oswald gave into his old nickname and became The Penguin, high class mobster.
