The Penguin is caught off guard when not only the Joker comes over and steals a drink, but the girl he was talking to before sits down too. Apparently, the formality of the meeting was over and both of these people knew Harvey already. The Penguin's eye wandered to the neckline of the dress and then he heard the words "girlfriend". Oh, shit. He murmured something along the lines of yeah she looks stunning. And then got further embarrassed when she pointed out the height of the other men.
Since both Ollie and Harvey seemed to be in conversation and he was now stuck in the both unless he pushed his way out, he turned his attention to the Joker.
"So, how are you finding the place? To your liking?" He didn't know how to make small talk with the guy, but figured he seemed like a guy who could make his own.

Olivia shifted slightly at his thin smile, unsure of what she'd done.
She forced a smile at Oswald when he agreed with Harvey, his wandering eyes not getting past her.
When Harvey mentioned he'd be working, she bit her lip and picked at her dress, looking down. "Should...I leave? I don't want to intrude or anything. I could go get a drink or something, I suppose."

"Harvey squeezed her hand again, lightly. "No, of course not. Stay. Oswald and I were just finalising arrangements for a meeting later in the month."
He wished Ollie didn't look so nervous. Sometimes he forgot what different worlds they were from, and that mob ettiquette was probably not something with which she was familiar.
In fact, he knew she wasn't. This was a girl who hugged the Tally Man. Nobody hugged the Tally Man.

Olivia searched Harvey's face, unsure of what he was thinking. She tentatively squeezed back and then looked at Oswald. "So, Mr. Cobblepot, what made you want to open the Iceberg? It's quite different from most other places I've been. Not every nightclub can boast that it has actual penguins inside."

"Guess I just got lucky," Lavinia stopped her dancing and looked at Katarina's for a few minutes, "see you got it now!" she exclaimed rather excitedly.
Following the girl's gaze she noticed the crowded booth, although it was pretty difficult not to notice it. Everyone sitting down looked very...unique, to put it lightly.
"They some of your cronies?" She asked with a tickled grin.

"I know a few of them but they're not my cronies." Smirking back at her. "I had a good teacher." Giving her a wink as she was complimented on her dancing performance.

Joker watched the interaction between Harvey and Olivia curiously. The young woman was bound to get herself killed at some point. Joker understood mob etiquette but chose to ignore it. Olivia was just ignorant.
He turned his attention to Oswald. "It could do with a little more...ah...funk. Maybe you could hang up the heads of people you didn't like for some extra decoration. I could even offer my services to assist. I have a few I'd like to see hangin' up..."

The Penguin looked at Olivia and blinked. This was a mob boss's girlfriend? Did she know he was a mob boss? She clearly hadn't been around him long. She was still soft. Still very innocent. Still very... awkward. Easily corruptible. He looked at Harvey and raised an eyebrow. Then back to the girl.
"Oh, it's just a token to the town. I felt like in my youth I had done wrong to it. So I wanted to show it that I had turned over a new leaf. I'm a changed man. I want to go straight."
What a load of shit. He almost laughed. He was a little nervous that the girl was between him and his umbrella though.
"Could you be a dear and hand me the umbrella you are sitting next to?"
Then he really did laugh. Decorating tips for the Joker? The man who was an eyesore of color? Oh dear. He truly was speechless.

Joker reached across and lightly flicked Olivia's wrist. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, Tartlette. It's a flamethrower. It's almost as neat as Tally Man's sword cane...Okay, maybe its just as neat, but I don't want you to roast the table when you fuck up with it, because you will. You are excellent at fucking things up." He patted her hand affectionately. "It's okay, I still don't want ya dead."
He quirked an eyebrow at Penguin's laugh. "Got a problem, Cobblypot?"

Olivia furrowed her brows at Joker, unsure of whether to be flattered, angry or frightened. She gave up and just looked anxiously between Oswald and the umbrella.
"Is it really a flamethrower? In this city I wouldn't be surprised." She hesitated, shot Joker a look and then handed Oswald the umbrella. "Here. Please just don't set us all on fire. That's not one of my favorite things to have happen."

Joker snorted at Olivia. "No, of course it isn't. Having your boyfriend send electricity through that useless gray matter between your ears is much higher on your list, isn't it? Or maybe getting fear gas thrown into your face is the top."
He leaned closer to her, eyes dancing in dark mirth. "Tell me, Olive. What is your favorite thing to have happen?"

Penguin finally stifled his laughter and shook his head. "Not at all! Just taking your tips to heart. It would bring a certain atmosphere to this place, wouldn't it? Should the heads be shrunken or do you prefer them life sized?" He grinned. Maybe he'd consider this for Halloween.
He took the umbrella from Olivia and nodded. "It's only for protection, I assure you my dear. And I don't think you mean me any harm. Other than slaying my heart, of course. I hope Harvey takes good care of a creature like you."

Olivia sat back in the booth and clasped her hands tightly in her lap. A muscle jumped in her jaw as she clenched it, staring at Joker. It took a moment for her to push back her anger before she turned to Oswald, forcing a smile.
"That is excellent to know, sir. I appreciate that. Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I'll head over to the bar."
Olivia rose stiffly from the booth, shooting Joker one last withering look before retreating to the deserted end of the bar. She quietly ordered a rum and coke and sat quietly, staring blankly at the penguins as memories of the last few months flooded her head.

Joker's eyes danced with mirth as he looked at Penguin. "Ya know, I like you. You've got style and an excellent sense of humor. And I of course like my heads lifesized. The expressions are much better."
He watched Olivia, absently chewing on the inside of his scar. He shook his head slightly once she'd made it to the bar. "Stupid slut." He muttered. "Kid's not too bad, but she is awfully stupid." He lazily rolled his head back to look at Penguin. "Don'tcha agree?"

Penguin felt the air crackle with the electricity that can only be generated by the wrath of a woman. It was a feeling he knew all too well. At least, it wasn't at him this time. He watched her go and felt a little relief. He could at least leave the booth now conveniently if the need arose.
He shot the Joker a look and glanced at the big men around him. "I don't think she strikes me as the stupid type. Though I'd have to say that perhaps 'kid' fits her description. She's very innocent. Or is at least good at playing it."
The Penguin shot Harvey a nervous glance. He wondered how he felt about Joker acting this way. Oswald was trying to keep neutral in it all.
