"I gathered that. I don't know why you care so much though." She stared at Kat.
Ruby let out a sharp snarl, her mood suddenly turning from annoyed to furious. "You always do this. You always walk away whenever we see each other. But this time I ain't following you. I'm done. If you want to keep me as a 'friend', if we can even call each other, then you better start treating me like one. I ain't a sheep. I ain't gonna follow you around everywhere, Katarina. Just because you're drunk, it does not make me want to care for you, and make sure you are okay and that you don't fall. I ain't your mother." She yelled at the drunk girl.

"I care because we're a lot alike..I don't want see you to make the same mistakes I have." Coming to a stop at the stairs as she looked over her shoulder at her. "It's a part of me, Ruby. I'm a runner..if you were my friend you'd know that already..."
Just as she was about to head down to the street level she stopped at Ruby's words. The anger rising up in her reaching that borderline between herself and madness. Where Nightshade and Kat met together. Going over to the blond grabbing her throat with a hand. "You're not my mother.." She snarled. "Don't ever talk about her. She was good and decent! You bitch! My father shouldn't have beat her like a dog!" All those emotions she kept running from and bottled up were released at once. Kat didn't meant to harm Ruby. It just happened.
"FUCK YOU RUBY!" She screamed letting go of her throat as she shook holding her head coming to her knees in pain.

When Kat grabbed her throat, Ruby's eyes narrowed and filled with anger. Her hand formed a fist and quickly she struck Kat's stomach with force. As Kat collapsed on to the ground, Ruby snarled and spat at the woman.
"I have no time for this. I ain't gonna waste my time on somebody who doesn't let go of their past and thinks it's okay to beat me! Well guess what Kat, it's not. I've let you hit me before but this time I'm not putting up with this shit. Sure, I can see you're upset, but you have no damn right to take it out on me! From what I can see, like father, like daughter."
Ruby finished her scolding and walked over to the stairs, opened the door and disappeared.
