Harvey leaned back in his desk chair, spinning idly back and forth slightly as he regarded the computer screen. He was on a local real estate website looking at a riverside apartment with three bedrooms. It looked great, but then he wondered about where they'd put the kids when he and Ollie had children of their own.
Still, there was always the suburbs. A nice, neat little house like he and Gilda used to have. It had been a fair way out of town and if he was to be honest, in a much quieter neighbourhood than he'd ever got used to. Harvey remebered it almost wistfully; the neat front garden and immaculately clean rooms with their airy, light decor.
Given he worked largely at night these days, Harvey didn't much relish the prospect of commuting out to the suburbs, but he could always keep a crash pad in town for when his business affairs kept him late. And in any case, it would be a sensible compromise. Trying to explain to Two-Face that they were moving to the suburbs would probably result in extreme self-mutilation.

Olivia leaned against the wall of the elevator as it ascended to the 22nd floor. An older woman had entered the elevator a few floors back and was standing as far away from Olivia as she could, occasionally shooting her nervous looks. Olivia fought the urge to bang her head against the wall. Honestly, just because she was sleeping with Harvey Dent didn't mean she was going to shoot somebody in the face.
The doors opened on her floor and Olivia stepped out. She turned and waved cheerfully at the woman who simply scowled in return. People tended to get strange around her when the found out who she was with. Though she would never tell Harvey, it did bother Olivia a bit.
She awkwardly opened the door as she tried to juggle the bags in her hands. She dumped them onto the couch and poked her head into his office.
"Well hey there handsome. I'm home...obviously."

Harvey glanced up. "Hey, beautiful. How was the shopping trip? Get yourself anything nice?"
He turned the monitor towards her. "Come and have a look at this. I've been thinking.. I know you've just moved in and get settled here, but maybe it's time to start looking for something new."

Olivia smiled absently. "Oh you know, nothing special. Just some girl stuff."
She fought the urge to cringe and walked over to the monitor. She quickly read over the specs and raised an eyebrow. "Three bedrooms? Is there something you're not telling me? I hope you're not pregnant. I don't know how I'd feel about little Jokers and Two-Faces running around."

Harvey smiled in response. "Well, I think you always look special."
Harvey shuddered. "Did I ever tell you about the time one of the shrinks tried to get everyone into creative writing as a form of therapy in Arkham? Someone who shall remain nameless, decided to write a story about me and Joker having kids together. Don't ask me how the biology of that worked, because I don't get it. Suffice it to say, neither of us were impressed."
He began to click through the photo gallery of the apartment. "I was thinking it would be nice to have a spare bedroom. For Suzi, when she comes to visit."

Laughing, Olivia said, "Oh, this would definitely make me look special, but thanks."
Olivia moved around the desk and turned the chair so that there was room for her to slip onto Harvey's lap. She slid one arm around his neck and nuzzled his ear. "I bet you were the man. Joker is much better at being a woman than you are. In fact if I hadn't had the misfortune of seeing his bits when he was sick then I would still be doubtful about his gender."
She fought the urge to roll her eyes. "Oh dandy. We're turning into a real little awkward family unit, aren't we?"
She leaned forward to get a better look at the pictures. "Not too shabby. I'm really not picky about where we live. This place is far beyond anything I ever imagined I'd be living in." She tweaked his nose, smiling despite her mild annoyance at the potential of living with the psychotic Japanese child. "You're too good to the people in your life, Dent. I'm not sure how we all got so lucky."

Harvey slipped an arm around Olivia's waist and bent his head to kiss her lightly. "This is true. But he'd probably say that he isn't just being a woman, he's a lady.
He looked at her disapprovingly. "Come on Ollie, it's not that bad. The kid's been through some tough times. Imagine the pressure on her, no wonder she's messed up. On a related subject, I'm thinking we should clear out the dining room and put a bed in there. I'd like the place to be more welcoming for her, you know?"
Harvey wrapped his other arm around her as well. "So you'd be happy to move house? What kind of place would you like to look for?"

Olivia laughed. "Oh, my apologies. I would never want to insult Joker's delicate feelings."
She sighed. "I didn't say she was that bad, Harvey. I simply said we were turning into an awkward family unit. Seriously, look at us! You're a mobster with half of a face, I'm a tiny ex-psychologist who's sleeping with you, Suzi is a Yakuza with an overzealous love for sharp objects. Hell, we even have a dog. Joker's like a stray mutt who shows up when it wants love and affection and then bites you when he's had enough. At least he doesn't have fleas."
She picked at the collar of Harvey's shirt, trying not to pout. "Yeah, I mean I guess it'd be good for her to be here. I suppose I'm being a little selfish in feeling disappointed about losing some much appreciated alone time. We'll adjust."
She smiled contentedly as his arms wrapped around her. Harvey made her feel safe and warm when he wasn't being an asshat. "I don't care where we go, Harv. It would be nice to have giant windows so we can watch the rain. I do love watching the rain and cuddling. Maybe we could find a nice little house and get a backyard for a real dog. We could even put Joker out there when he visits!"

He shrugged. "Knives and severed heads, I can't disagreee with that. But I thought Tally Man was the family dog? Joker will be most unimpressed at being referred to as a canine. He's more like a cat - takes over the whole house and demands everyone treat him like royalty."
Harvey stroked back her hair. "It'll be ok. We'll still have time alone together. I just think it would be nice to have a proper room for her."
He smiled to himself. "Big windows it is. And I did actually think about a little house in the suburbs. I used to live out there with Gilda. Then I thought about the local neighbourhood watch and their response to having me move into their area, and dropped the idea."

"Joker's an abomination." Olivia said with a sigh. "Part dog, part cat, part clown and full psychopath. Where did you even get him, Harvey? He's so strange. At least Tally Man is a gentleman."
She leaned forward to rest her forehead against his. "We better. I'm not ready for actual small children to be interrupting our evenings. Thank goodness Suzume is old enough to not be smelly and loud. Not that I actually mind small things that are smelly and loud. Just not ready for them yet."
She kissed him quickly before turning back to the computer. "Maybe not in the suburbs then. Suburban moms frighten me. Their children would probably throw lollipops at your face since they have no manners. We could take over a store! You know, one of the ones with a flat on top? That's like a house but it also makes you money!"

"Again, I can hardly argue with that." His voice grew more serious. "But I have no idea where he's from. You've seen his file - even he doesn't remember what his life was like before. If there ever was a before."
He caressed the smooth skin of Ollie's cheek. "One day. I want children with you, Olivia. I want us to be a real family some day."
He raised his eyebrows at the thought of life surrounded by soccer moms and SUVs. It wasn't a pleasant image.
"There are some brownstones for sale over on the west side. I like the idea of a whole house to spread out in rather than just an apartment. We could even set aside an annexe just for Two-Face and his... houseguests."
