Alison watched Matthew think. She would pay millions of dollars just know what he's thinking. Taking a drink from her water, she let the silence fall. It was somehow comforting a bit. Although it wasn't long until she though of a question. It, to her, was a very interesting question.
"If you could have dinner with any three people from any time, fictional or non-fictional, who would they be and why?"

Matthew felt a smile creep onto his face at this question. Oh, there were a few people he thought of off the top of his head. Seven, to be exact. He gave a small frown while trying to narrow down who he really would like and who would just be nice...
"Doctor Who, because I'm kinda strange like that and because... Imagine having dinner with an alien." He grinned, suddenly rather glad of his first choice, even if it did make him seem like a rather weird person. "It would be interesting, in short. Uh... Second person..." He tried to decide, biting his bottom lip softly. "Steven Fry. He would be interesting and just generally brilliant to talk to." Matthew decided, sitting up a little and trying to narrow down the five choices he had left. His choices were Oscar Wilde, Alan Davies, Tim Burton, Hugh Laurie or David 'Ducky' Mallard from N.C.I.S. He decided with a small smile. "Oscar Wilde. He was just an intelligent man and it must've been really rather interesting to talk to him." He said then added with a slightly bigger smile: "But there are loads of people, so at least if someone turned us down then could ask other people as back-up."
Rubbing an eye softly, Matthew looked at Alison and gave a small smirk. "What is your favourite quote or saying?" He asked her, wondering if it would be an Oscar Wilde quote or someone else.

Alison couldn't help but at him mentioning Doctor Who. She loved the show and the Movie. Although, she preferred David Tennant as the Doctor who. She nodded her head at the other two. She could help but give a toothy smile at the last part. Back-up with dinner. It would be interesting. Quietly thinking she leaned forward, putting her chin on her fist. She quickly sat back then spoke.
"I'd have to say 'The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams' by Eleanor Roosevelt. It holds something that dreams come true, when believing." She was a romantic by heart. Atleast thats what she thought. Looking into the sky she watch the star sparkle. She glanced back at Matthew and gave a warm smile.
"What was the strangest thing someone once told you?"

Matthew nodded at her answer, smiling softly before he heard her question. The strangest thing? Matthew thought for a moment then remembered someone telling him he looked like a chipmunk once... A small smile of amusement crept onto his face.
"Uh, someone once told me I looked like a chipmunk when I smile..." He said before laughing a little and pushing his hair out of his face. He looked at the table then at Alison. "Have- If-..." He pulled a face while trying to pick the right words to ask what he wanted to ask. "If you ever had children, what would you call them?" He asked her, frowning slightly in thought. He wasn't sure whether it was too early to ask this, but it was something he was curious about.
((I hope tisn't too early for him to ask... I couldn't think of any other questions...))

((Your fine...Since it's a RPG...It almost needs to be pushed along.))
Alison tried hard to see the chipmunk in Matthew. Smiling she shrugged shoulders. She listen to Matthew try to conjure up the question but when he asked it she froze. Her blood ran cold, sitting with the thickness in the air. She tried giving Matthew a smile but it was very weak.
"I-It depends. I don't really have a favorite name." Looking down she realize that now would probably be a good time to inform him about her miscarriage. No one except her, Karen, William, doctors and her professor really know. She was worried maybe for the fact that if she told him, he would never want to be her friend. Her that they would just remain friends. Closing her eyes for a brief seconds she told herself, whatever happens...happens. Reopening her eyes she looked at Matthew.
"When..I was at Yale, I meet this man. If you remember me telling you. He was my boyfriend. Well, we kinda got serious. I was expecting a child. A girl. Well-She was miscarried. I lost her. I named her Mandy. Even though..." She bit her lip trying to calm down feeling the eyes prickle with tears. Noticing her voice broke a couple times. "She was gone. I thought maybe I name her to help with the loss. It did...for a bit."
Silence was somewhat over-bearing as she want to say something more. Atleast a apologize at her out burst but the next words out of her mouth was something she wasn't really expecting to say. "I hope this doesn't ruin our friendship or anything else that is going..." She stopped herself before saying between us. Giving a soft smile she need to take it one step at a time. Her relationship with Matthew, isn't like the one with William.

When she answered, Matthew felt his jaw drop and he was suddenly feeling rather guilty for asking.
"I- Uh... I'm so sorry." He mumbled, unsure as to what to do now but, because of an urge, he stood and walked over to her before hugging her softly. "Why would you think that this would change anything?" He then asked, frowning slightly in questioning after he went back to his seat and, only after asking his question, did he feel embarrassed about hugging her and he blushed a little. "Sorry..." He murmured softly, feeling even more awkward.

Alison was startled by him getting up, she thought that he was leaving but when she felt his arms around her. She couldn't really believe what was happening. Her heart leaped in the air. There was a hope that it would last long but when he broke off, she continued to feel his warmth. Looking up at Matthew she suddenly let the tear fall. Muttering a thanks she quickly wiped the tears away.
"There are people who think that people that when someone miscarries a child, they are useless. Then they walk away." Looking down at the table, she was referring to her ex. She felt a little better realizing that nothing bad was going to happen. Looking back at Matthew when he muttered sorry, she quickly realized and turned red. He just hugged her. A smile sprouted from her lips.
"It's fine. I enjoyed it."

Matthew shrugged softly. There was no reason to think someone useless because of something that they couldn't have possibly stopped.
"You couldn't have stopped it..." He muttered before smiling at her last few words. "I'm glad you enjoyed it... I think." He grinned a little and looked at her, noticing that she was smiling. He crossed his legs, like someone would if on the floor.

Alison knew that miscarriages couldn't be helped but maybe if she didn't have stress going on then. Not really wanting to dwell on the past. She remember about her dessert in the fridge. She wanted to try something new. Cheese cake but not baked. She though coffee would make a nice combination.
"So, Are you up for something sweet?"

Matthew felt himself laughing a little at her question.
"Um... Yes?" He answered, wondering what she would be serving and not bothering to hide the curiousity in his voice. He was smiling softly while also frowning slightly in questioning.

Alison gathered their plates and silverware, smiling at Matthew. Also putting the pans of uneaten food near the top. She stood withe the stack in hand and walked down into her apartment. She put some ground coffee in the machine. Setting the dirty dishes in the sink to soak. She put the leftovers in a plastic bowl with a lid. Watching the coffee almost finish, she pulled out the dessert. She put a slice of cheese cake onto a plate. The poured two cups of coffee. Placing them on a tray she carried the dessert to Matthew.
"Cheese cake. I made it differently. It's suppose to be fluffier and much lighter." She set set both plates, next to the dessert silverware, and drink on to the table. "Enjoy."

Matthew smiled as he watched Alison take the plates and such. He would've helped her, if she'd asked, but she didn't seem to need the help... Scratching his arm, he watched her as she came back and his smile grew a little at her words. He didn't actually know there was more than one way to make cheese cake though... This should be interesting.
Taking a bite, Matthew gave a small grin.
"It's great." He nodded, munching rather happily on it now before drinking some coffee.

Alison couldn't help but smile at his words. Taking a bite of her cheese cake she was happy it turned out the way she wanted it. It was refreshing and it didn't seem as rich as the original way of eating it. She took of sip of her coffee. A smiled appeared on her face remember that she wanted to do.
"After dessert I'll show you my violin. If you want to see it?" She asked him politely.

Matthew nodded, taking another bite of cheese cake.
"Love t'see it." He smiled softly, looking at her then at the cake as he took another bite and drank some more of his drink. He was actually really glad that he'd come round now... Well... He had been at the beginning of the evening as well, despite him being late earlier...

Alison almost couldn't wait to show her instrument. But she knew that she would take her time with Matthew. Eating her cheese cake slowly she washed down some of the dessert with her cup of coffee.
"What was your first job?" she asked curiously then cut the cake into a bite-able piece.Waiting slightly for his answer.
