Alison watched Matthew with his smile. She knew that it wasn't a complete failure. Doing a small bow she joked around with it. "Thank you. Thank you."She started to break into a giggle. Quickly regaining herself she walked back couch. She had an idea, and was curious on how Matthew wanted to play it out.
"How would you like to try something simple?" Asking her question then took a seat on the coffee table. She knew it could hold her weight.

Matthew raised an eyebrow in interest.
"Okay?" He half asked, wondering what she'd want him to do. He assumed it was to do with the violin, but wasn't 100% sure... Well... It was the most obvious thing that could be involved, really....

Alison smiled then set the body portion of the violin on Matthew's legs, letting the neck rest in the air. She handed him the bow.
"Hold on the wooden part, also relax your hands." She fixed it so it wouldn't be like actually playing the instrument...atlease the right way of playing it. Crossing her legs she held the neck of the violin balancing with her higher leg. She place her on hand on his hand that held the bow. Blushing slightly she continued on with what she intended to do. She place her free hand on the fingerboard just barely touching the strings.
"We are going to attempt Frere Jacques. Ready?" She watch him closely then started to press the strings, sliding the bow across the string just above the bridge. Guiding him through the song. Lifting the bow at some part to continue with the song. She knew this song by heart and the fact that it was one of her first songs she learn to play. Closing the song she could help but clap at his first attempt. 'Bravo.'

Doing as Alison said, Matthew gave a small nod when she asked if he was ready. As they played, it seemed almost unrealistic that someone would be playing a song, on a violin, with him. Then again, the whole of Gotham seemed unrealistic to someone who wasn't born there... He started laughing a little at her clapping. He bowed his head somewhat as though actually bowing but jokingly. He couldn't keep the smile from his face as he looked at her.

Alison listened to his laughter. Unbelieveable. She couldn't remember if she heard it or not, but she was starting to adore it. Looking up she saw his smile, she wasn't sure if it was just her or his accomplishment. Thinking it was the latter, it probably was. She was just a friend. Pushing her unhappy thoughts away, she gave him a nod for doing a good job.
"Great job. Now how do you feel trying it...without me guiding the bow?"She raised an eyebrow and trying to be somewhat serious. It came off half and half.

Matthew raised his eyebrows.
"I think if that happened, you'd be going back to Familia Music Shop..." He joked, smile growing somewhat as he did. He may have a good (well... Brilliant) memory, but he actually preferred to have Alison guiding him. He, for some reason, felt more comfortable with her helping than he would've with anyone else. How did he know this? People had tried (and failed) to help him with stuff before...

Alison gave a soft laugh with Matthews joke. Slowly shaking her head, she knew it wouldn't damage the instrument...more like damage their eardrums. But something told her that he could play it without doing anything wrong. She looked at the violin and another song came into mind. Touching his hand again to lead his hand, she conjured the notes into her head. She hoped the song wouldn't scare him, or intimated him.
"This time were are going to attempt to play Ode to Joy by Beethoven." Again she touched the fingerboard on the string. She lead his hand through the song. The urge to close her eyes to feel the music came but she resisted, knowing that if she closed her eyes...she wouldn't to be able to help Matthew out. They finished the song. It wasn't that bad for two people playing one violin.
"Excellent." She smiled at him with the look of praise in her eyes. It was fun teaching Matthew with the violin. She never really thought of herself as a teacher but anything possible.

Matthew raised his eyebrows at her choice of music. He didn't think it was a strange choice, but he just didn't expect her to like it. When they'd played a second time, Matthew hadn't been able to stop himself smiling at her. She seemed to want to do something, but was obviously resisting it. When she'd commented at the end, Matthew gave a soft laugh.
"Have you ever played the violin with another person?" He asked her, still finding it unreal but just about starting to get used to it.

"I- uh...No, I haven't. Your my first." Alison smiled at him innocently. Remembering when she was younger how she thought it would be so romantic to teach and help another practice playing the violin. Now here she was give Matthew a mini lesson with her violin.
"How am I doing?" She was curious slightly. Maybe if something happened, she help tutor others to play. She remember her hand that was resting on Matthew's hand. Removing it, she tried to dismiss the though how comfortable her hand was, even if his hand was a bit bigger then hers.

Matthew smiled.
"You're doing great, hence why I asked." He grinned before she took her hand from his and he blushed a little at not realising that she hadn't already taken her hand off of his. He hadn't actually minded her hand on his either, which was probably what he was blushing about more... He pushed the hair out of his face before wondering why he'd just done that. He shook his thoughts from his head and gave a small smile.

"Thank you." She couldn't help but smile at Matthew. Alison watch him blush, she bit her lip resisting the urge to say and do something. Rather enjoying the moment together. She wouldn't want to ruin it by telling her friend how much she liked him or kissing him. Sighing, here she was being selfish. Patience is a virtue. "I think we could continue these mini lesson another time, if you want?" She turned the case so it would be easier to place the instrument into. Waiting for Matthew's response.

Matthew had been thinking when Alison spoke and he gave a small 'hm?' before nodding.
"Uh- Yeah, yeah." He smiled, wondering whether or not she'd notice his slight distraction. He figured that she probably would, but then thought about how she may not and shook his thoughts away, a little annoyed by them now.

Alison smiled while placing her instrument back into her case. She glanced from the bow to him then back to the bow. Removing the bow from his hand, she place her hand into his hand. She waited for him to say something, or remove his hand from hers. Putting the bow back into into the case with her other hand. She sat back on the couch. Her eyes slightly averted.

Matthew looked at her hand. He felt rather awkward again and the silence wasn't helping at all.
"Uh.. Wh- D-" He paused for a moment while trying to think of what he wanted to ask. He had no idea, but he just wanted to say something. He couldn't think of anything for a moment before remembering in the coffee shop. Alison had said that she liked Edgar Allan Poe. "Wh- What Edgar Allan Poe poems d'you like? Not including Dream Within a Dream..." He asked, mentally cursing the stuttering. He gave a small laugh. "Random question, I know..." He smiled softly, trying to ignore the warmth in his rosy cheeks.

Alison was starting wish that she never put her hands in his. She kept her expression far from what she was feeling. Watching him watching her hand was awkward for her too. She looked at the ceiling while he asked her question. A soft smile played on her face, thinking. She enjoyed lots of poems by Poe and other authors.
"Lenore, The Raven, and To My Mother these are the poems I like from Poe." Rattling off the small list, she knew it wasn't a lot but she was picky of what poems that she liked. She was curious about one thing, he did like to talk about Edgar. "Do you like any other poets other then Poe?"
