Alison nodded her head to let Matthew know that she was, indeed, very comfortable. Playing with her fingers she knew lots of things that made her happy. Her problem to listing them, with her luck she would forget one. Smiling she looked up at him as she started to speak.
"There are so many things that make me happy." She closed her eyes for just a second then reopened them. "Being around friends and family, listening to music, reading, cooking, and helping others."

Matthew gave a small laugh at her nodding before smiling softly at her answer. He was watching her, though he wasn't sure why he didn't look away. He gave a slight amount of thought to his watching her before realising that they were silent, though he thought it was a comfortable silence...

Alison could feel Matthew watching her. She let the silent fall comfortably as she just relaxed into the couch and Matthew. Not really wanting to break the silence but she just had too.
"Like what you are seeing?" She had a play smirk on her face while looking at the wall. Slowly she turned to look at him. Her face was close to his. She watched him and his reactions.

Matthew gave a small, very nervous laugh. He couldn't say anything for a moment or two as he tried to ignore the heat in his cheeks.
"I-I'm not quite sure how to answer that for the better." He admitted, stuttering a little before laughing a little more, at himself now. He decided to just stay silent and nod softly. It was a small nod, something that someone paying much attention to his answer would notice.

Alison smiled watching him nod. She enjoyed his laughter, whether if it was nervous or not. Looking down she enjoyed the warmth that he gave off. She wasn't cold but it was comfortable. The silence fell around them. It was very different for her, taking it slowly.
"What were you like when you were younger?" Biting her tongue she just couldn't keep quiet, could she? She watched the moon in the window. Her one ear was slightly perked listening to him.

Matthew shrugged. What was he like? He wasn't too sure, really. Thinking back, he tried to figure out the best way to describe himself.
"Uh... I'm- I'm not sure..." He stuttered, unable to think of any words to describe himself with. "Um, I- I was quieter than I am now, I read more too... And I was a better liar." He gave a small laugh and a smile to match. "Other than that, I'm guessing that I've never really changed..." He supposed, frowning slightly in thought before shrugging, once more only a half shrug as he considered telling her to ask Jane or someone that question. "What about you? How would you describe yourself as a child?" He asked her softly, a hint of curiousity in his voice.

Alison had a thoughtful expression on her face.
"I was a brat. I hated my family so I spent lots of time either at a friends house, a library, at school, or Familia Music Shop. I was an over-achiever. I also held a lot of anger." Thinking about what she just said she wanted to feel guilty for not being for her family but not thing came. She just felt empty.

Matthew really didn't see how keeping away from the people you hate could be seen as being a brat, but he didn't say anything about it.
"Whenever I went to libraries, my mom was with me... Her and me, we were the readers in our family. My sister's much more of a hands-on kind of person..." He then realised what he'd just said and laughed a little. "Not that kind of hands-on." He chuckled, unable to stop himself finding somewhat naughty amusement out of his wording. "I'm just going to give up now..."

Smiling softly as Matthew spoke about how he went with his mother to the library. Usually, when she went it was by herself. Alison was slightly jealous but quickly dismissed these feelings. She had no right to feel the way she had. As he continued she broke into a bigger smile. She watched him find amusement in his own words. Folding her arms light over her abdomen, she went into thought, a question came into her mind looking at the stars in the sky.
"Have you ever been dancing?"

Matthew shook his head with a questioning expression on his face. He wondered, for a moment, what had made her think of it before pushing his thoughts to the back of his mind.
"Never... Why?" He asked her, now rather curious as to why she'd wanted to know.

"Not even to a school dance?" Alison gave her full attention to Matthew. She smiled at him with curiosity glint in her eyes. Biting her lip she remember how she had to go to dance, but not the way she wanted to go. Not she had minded when she was younger but now, she wish she had went someone.

Matthew shook his head. He hadn't gone to his school dance, he'd avoided school that month, the fact that his sister had been beating her year kind of played a huge role in that.
"No..." He mumbled, now feeling rather embarrassed about it. He raised an eyebrow, deciding that it would do instead of asking why again.

Alison that she hadn't answer his why question and now was silent. Still wondering why she hasn't answered him.
"I remember being on student council, we had to set school dances...well, we had to go to the dances. I've never been asked. Not that it bothers me." She sat up and crossed her legs Indian style. The last part that she said was a lie, it kinda bothers her. Staring at the wall, she imagined her and Matthew dancing around. Flinching slightly at the though of each other stepping on their feet. Smiling softy she turned and looked at him.

Matthew smiled slightly. He didn't believe her saying that it didn't bother her, she asked for a reason. He suspected that this was the reason and that it did bother her, even if only a little. He didn't say that, though. It was only a suspicion after all.
"I bet that was fun." He smiled, looking at her and softly putting his arm around her shoulders. He wasn't overly sure how she'd react, but hoped that she wouldn't feel too uncomfortable or embarrassed.

Alison was caught off guard when he spoke. She wasn't sure if he saw what she had been daydreaming or if he was being sarcastic about her having to go alone. Leaning into his embrace she figured that it had to be that latter.
"Funtastic." She used sarcasm in her voice but as a playful way not trying to be mean. Remembering how she stood there in her prom dress, watching her friends dancing with their dates...especially to the slow songs. She didn't regret anything at the time but now she feels stupid. Even during prom she was alone, she asked some men but they rejected her. Smiling she just sucked it up like it didn't bother her. Coming back to reality she turned to Matthew. She wanted to say something but she couldn't think of anything. Giving him a smile she looked at the ceiling. Unsure what to say or do, just staying silent.
