Matthew gave a small laugh at what Alison said. He had expected a few reactions to his arm around her shoulders, but one of them was not for her to lean into him at all, a hint of surprise floated over his expression. It was only there for a few moments and Matthew found himself enjoying the feel of her leaning against him and the silence. He didn't mind the silence, though she seemed to, to him. He looked at his lap, also unable to think of anything to say.

Alison wasn't use to silence. Her ex and her were a fast pace relationship. It was bold and loud, but now the slow made realize that maybe it would work better. It makes her see that how well they work. Smiling softly, she could get use the silence. She lightly tapped her leg against his; a playful gleam appeared in her eyes.

Matthew looked at her with an expression of curiousity at the playful glint in her eyes. He raised an eyebrow softly, his curiousity piqued. He wondered what she thought about, she seemed to think a lot. He was curious as to what it was about though. Needless to say, she interested him a little.

Alison blushed lightly knowing that he was looking at her. She wanted to play a little. The games was something like footsie, but she was playing with her legs. She would tap her leg with his then he would tap back. Not getting the response that she wanted, she gave a soft pout then smirked. 'Maybe he didn't know this game.'
"You were suppose to tap my leg back. It's like a game." A flirtatious game, but a game. She tapped her leg with his again. Seeing if he would play the game or not.

Matthew gave a small grin and did what she'd said. He really had no idea what they were doing, but soon realised that he didn't actually mind not knowing completely. It was better than doing nothing, after all.

Alison was happy and she wore on her sleeve. Smiling at him, she felt his leg collide with hers. She responded with another tap to his leg. When her college roommates introduced this game, she couldn't help but think it was stupid. Now here she was playing it with the man that she really, really liked.

He felt like a child, plain and simple. This was like something Matthew and Jane would've done when they were younger, when they weren't fighting and playing 'where can we hide to get out of school today?'... Tapping Alison's leg back, Matthew started laughing a little at the memory of himself, Jane and a friend of hers, Kristen, and how they'd all hidden in Matthew's house to get out of school. It had worked as well, until their mother got home and found them all in their hiding places giggling furiously.
He tried to stop laughing and managed it, for about a second as he looked at her and began giggling.
"Sorry..." He mumbled, trying hard not to laugh anymore.

Alison smiled at Matthew when he started laughing, but when he stopped then couldn't help to continue. She raised her eyebrow at him. Hoping it is was something happy that made her crush laugh and not her. She lightly tapped her leg again. Giving a small yawn she resisted the urge to feel tired. Unfortunately, tomorrow held busy day, she had to go into work...early. She didn't say anything, just stayed quiet. Resisting the urge to look at the clock.

Matthew noted that she didn't ask what exactly he was laughing at and he smiled at her, doing the same again as he had before. He didn't want Alison to think that he had been laughing at her, but she probably didn't think it, else she would've asked... Right?

Alison decided to do something different she leaned into his body bumping him, then bouncing off. Her body was still in his embrace, totally forgotten about. She looked at him and grinned. Here were two adults acting like children, who flirted with each other.

Matthew giggled childishly and did the same lightly before glancing around the room in hopes of seeing the time. His watch was on the wrist that was the other side of Alison and he didn't want to see like he was bored or such. He didn't notice the clock in the room and gave a small frown of slight confusion but otherwise not overly minding.

Alison watched him look around her living room. She looked down at his wrist. Picking up his wrist she spoke the time on his watch. Setting it back down she couldn't help but feel a little disappointed on how fast time went.
"9:50 P.M." Smiling she knew the look that he had on his face and as he looked around. She had yet to buy a clock for the living room which drove her crazy but it sometime when she had the time, she would buy one.

When she picked up his wrist, Matthew looked at her and realised what she was doing. At her telling him the time, he nodded. 9:50? Time moved so quickly, didn't it? It was hard for Matthew to believe that it had been 2 hours, 45 minutes since he'd walked through Alison's front door.
"Time moves too quickly." He mumbled, somewhat unhappy with how time flew like a dove.

"At least when one is having fun." Alison gave a soft smile before jumping up. She held her index finger, to tell him one minute. Racing into the kitchen, she picked up the left-overs for Matthew. They were in a brown bag, inside Tupperware. Coming back she watched him stand then handed him the bag.
"Some dinner for you, when ever you don't want to eat out. I even put some cheese cake in there too." Nodding to the bag in his hand.

Matthew nodded.
"Yeah... 'Cause your attention isn't on the time..." He agreed before she walked off and he frowned in curiousity before Alison came back and he stood as she handed the items over to him. He nodded along with her words and smiled. "Thank you." He said softly, rather glad of her giving him food, even if he did now feel like a charity... Oh well, he was sure that they'd probably end up left at the back of his fridge anyway. He didn't tend to cook when he got home, hence the take aways and meals out.
